SCOTTSVILLE, N.Y. – Over 350 cyclists gathered at Stokoe Farms this morning for the Tour de Cure Finger Lakes Region, a major fundraising and awareness event organized by the American Diabetes Association.
The event aimed to raise support for the nearly 1.8 million people in New York living with diabetes. Riders of all ages and experience levels participated, forming teams made up of family members, friends, coworkers, and local businesses. Their shared goal: to bring attention to a disease that continues to impact millions and to push forward the fight for a cure.
The Tour de Cure is more than a bike ride. It is part of a national movement to increase understanding of diabetes and provide funding for research, education, and community programs. The funds raised help support prevention efforts, access to care, and scientific breakthroughs.
Throughout the morning, participants cycled routes of varying lengths, each designed to be both challenging and accessible. Volunteers lined the course to provide water, encouragement, and medical assistance if needed.
Organizers said the strong turnout reflects growing community commitment to improving lives affected by diabetes. The event also offered health information, personal stories from people managing diabetes, and a chance to connect with others who share similar struggles and hopes.
As the ride came to a close, the atmosphere remained energetic and optimistic, with many expressing gratitude for the sense of unity and purpose the event fostered.
Tour de Cure continues to be one of the American Diabetes Association’s most impactful campaigns, bringing together thousands across the country in a powerful show of support and determination to end diabetes.
