Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center will host a free support group meeting on June 12 at the Randolph County Senior Center for people living with diabetes, pre-diabetes, and their caregivers. The event, which begins at 11 a.m., aims to offer guidance and foster community support for managing Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
The session is open to individuals with diabetes and pre-diabetes, as well as their family members and caregivers. It provides an opportunity to learn strategies for effective management and share experiences.
“We recognize the challenges of living with diabetes, and we want to offer the resources and support necessary to help our community lead healthier lives,” said Jim Severino, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator at Davis Medical Center. “This group is not only a source of valuable information but also a space where individuals can connect and motivate each other in their health journeys.”
The meeting will feature a variety of educational resources, including diabetes-friendly recipes and tips on meal planning, all aimed at simplifying diabetes management. Participants will be able to ask questions, share their stories, and engage with health professionals and fellow community members.
This session is part of an ongoing series that will address different aspects of diabetes management, from nutrition and exercise to medication and mental health.
