Skin Thickness and Composition​

The skin on different fingers can vary in thickness and composition. Thicker skin may require more pressure to obtain an adequate blood sample, and this pressure can affect the blood flow and the integrity of the blood cells. Additionally, the presence of calluses or other skin abnormalities on certain fingers can also influence the testing process. Callused skin may not allow for a clean puncture, leading to an uneven sample collection. The skin on the fingers can carry moisture, natural oils, and contaminants.
